Our Conductor
The Port Sunlight Orchestra's Conductor since 1998 has been Eric Jennings, who was principal trombone with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for over 30 years. He has also directed, written for and performed with the Liverpool Brass Ensemble, and has taught both privately and with Liverpool University. He is also an accomplished violinist, is much in demand as an adjudicator at music festivals and is also an experienced speaker on musical and music-related topics.
The Orchestra has benefited greatly from the commitment and professional background and approach with which he has directed it. In Eric's time it has broadened its scope to include more of the classical repertoire proper, without losing sight of its traditional role in providing musical entertainment.
